At Studio Upstream, protecting our clients’ business information is a priority. All public case studies are anonymised, and client revenue figures are never disclosed publicly. We only publish a selected number of case studies on our website.
We follow this approach for the following reasons:
- Respecting client confidentiality. Internal business data, revenue performance and commercially sensitive information should remain private.
- Protecting competitive advantages. Search engines, AI platforms and automated scrapers can make published strategies and performance information easily accessible to competitors.
- Protecting clients’ investment. Ecommerce is a highly competitive industry. Developing effective SEO strategies requires time, expertise and financial investment from our clients. Publishing these strategies in detail could allow competitors to benefit from that work without making the same investment.
- Preventing misuse of results. Third parties can copy or misrepresent public case studies, claiming achievements that aren’t theirs. This can mislead businesses into paying for SEO services based on results the provider never actually achieved.
- Preventing unwanted attention. Identifiable case studies can attract unsolicited approaches from competitors, other agencies or third parties targeting the client’s business.
- Maintaining client control. Clients should have a say in how their business performance and commercial information are represented publicly, even when the results are positive.
We believe in demonstrating the value of our work without compromising the businesses that trust us. More detailed results may be shared privately with prospective clients, subject to client permission.
